BIO / ALBUM

The Jacobson Organ was est. in 1994 by Emmet with Cleveland and Mick. Practicing 3 days a week in a hot garage and working endlessly on 20min originals and 30min jams they ultimately released a cassette demo. TJO has since released 5 albums with the first 4 featuring another drummer named Scud. Mick has since returned to the band and the genesis of the sound with him, thus they agreed this album should be TJO; the debut.  The name comes from the stereoscopic vomeronasal sensory organ. Use mirror carefully to check.

Born in Chicago and raised in South Florida, Emmet conceptualized the record. A nod to the likes of The Cars, Thin Lizzy, Cheap Trick playing on boom boxes and out car windows in the hot 1979 sun. Cleveland, from Kentucky, adds his darkly vintage take on tracks such as Lady Guilt and Recognize Me. Mick, from Highwood, IL, lays down his deep groves with all the right feels.

TJO comes at a good time. As a new generation's sound evolves, computer sounds and guitars like synths are dehumanizing the sweat, dirt and heart that is Rock. TJO celebrates that type of Rock. The soul moving, air punching, karate kick kind.
